Agra :
Once the capital of the Mughal Empire, Agra is now one of the
prominent destinations of the World Tourism map with three heritage
monuments - The Taj Mahal, Red Fort & Fatehpur Sikri. It
has secured its place in world history with Shah Jahan’s memento for
the beautiful Noor Jahan. It is much more than just a dacadent city

Allahabad
:
Situated at the confluence of the three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna and the
invisible Saraswati, Allahabad is one of the largest cities of Uttar
Pradesh. The meeting point is known as Triveni and is especially
sacred to Hindus. It is believed that a holy dip at Prayag ( the
ancient name of modern time Allahabad) cleanses man from all his
sins. It is a city with the mixed culture of the Hindus , the Muslims,
the Jains and the Christians. |

Ayodhya
:
According to the sacred Indian epic Ramayana, the ancient city of
Ayodhya, was founded by Manu, the law-giver of the Hindus. It has been
the capital of the decendants of the Surya Vansh of which Lord Rama
was the most celebrated king. Ayodhya during ancient times was known
as Kosaldesha. The Atharvaveda describes it as "a city built by gods
and being as prosperous as paradise itself".

Jhansi :
Previously known as Balwant Nagar,Jhansi was ruled by the Chandela
kings. In the 11th century Jhansi lost its importance but in the 17th
century, it again rose to prominence under Raja Bir Singh Deo of
Orchha who had good relations with the Mughal emperor Jehangir. In
1613 Raja Bir Singh Deo constructed the celebrated for of Jhansi.
After his death in 1627, his son Juhar Singh succeeded him. But Jhansi
is most remembered for its dauntless ruler- Rani Lakshmibai.

Kanpur :
In May, 1765, Shuja-ud-daula the Nawab Wazir of Awadh, was defeated by
the British near Jajmau(located on the eastern outskirts of Kanpur)
and it was probably during this time that the strategic importance of
the otherwise insignificant village of Kanpur was realized by the
British.

Mathura :
Widely known as birth place of lord Krishna, Mathura is
located on the western bank of river Yamuna , 145 Km south-east of
Delhi and 58 Km north west of Agra in the State of Uttar Pradesh. For
about 3000 years, it has remained the hub of Indian culture and
civilization.
Vrindaban :
Vrindaban
is also a popular centre of pilgrimage for the Hindus, associated with
Lord Sri Krishna and his devout upbringing.

Varanasi :
The holy city of Varanasi, or Banares, (also known as Kashi) is one of
the oldest cities of the world is a site of popular Hindu pilgrimage
and occupies a prominent place in Hindu mythology. Mark Twain, the
English author and literateur, who was enthralled by the legend and
sanctity of Banares, once wrote : This city of Lord Shiva is older
than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks
twice as old as all of them put together".
10 km. North East of Varanasi, lies the
hamlet where Lord Buddha first came to preach his first sermon of the
‘midle path’ to Nirvana, after he achieved enlightenment. This place
is Sarnath, where we find the Ashoka pillar and the Stupas.
